Welcome to chudleighknighton.org – the online home of Chudleigh Knighton Village Hall
This is YOUR community building – a vibrant, friendly space to meet and make new friends. There are all sorts of activities and events run for all ages as well as the opportunity to hire generous spaces to do things yourselves.
The building is managed by volunteers – we are a very friendly bunch and always looking for new people to join us!
What’s on this month

Sound Gong Bath
Saturday 24th May
2-4pm
This amazing pure immersive session of deep relaxation returns to the hall to support our fundraising efforts. Booking is essential via Mags on 07976 751385 or email puregongs@gmail.com. Treat yourself to the perfect chill out space with extra feel good factor.
Her usual session will also run on Tuesday 6th May 7-8.30pm. Don’t miss out!

Line Dancing
Tuesday 20th May
6.30-7.30pm
It’s time to slide on that stetson again! Our popular line dancing class is fun and all proceeds support our village hall.
At only £3 per person, there’s no better way to enjoy yourself and get a little fitter at the same time. Yeehah!!

VE Day celebrations
Saturday 3rd May
A busy day at the hall that starts at 9am with the big breakfast! All are welcome for sensibly priced bacon, sausage and egg rolls.
Planned after this from 10am are plant sales, cake sales, charity pop up shop, raffle and drinks – wraps up at 2pm.
A fun event for everyone – pop over to lend your support and indulge!

Defibrillator Training
Tuesday 29th April
6.30-7.30pm
We’ve all seen them but does everyone out there know how to actually use one?
Jay’s Aim charity are running another session to demonstrate how this life saving piece of equipment is used effectively. You never know when that skill could be vital.
Booking with Tricia is essential – call 07870 556336. Donations to the charity are encouraged in exchange for attendance.

VE Day commemorative flag raising
Thursday 8th May
11am
The Village hall commemorative union flag will be raised at 11am to celebrate a momentous event – 80 years since Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) was celebrated world wide, marking the end of World War 2 in Europe.
Refreshments are available after this and later in the evening St Pauls will hold a Lamp of Peace Ceremony at the Memorial Gate at 9.30pm.

Cosy Corner
Monday – Friday
10 -5
Although the warmer weather means we aren’t shivering any more, the Library room and Viridor suite remain open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm for anyone to drop in. Facilities are available to make hot drinks and microwave food. Free Wifi, books and puzzles…

Post Office
Every Tuesday 2-3.30pm
Every Thursday 8.30-10.30am
Our post office service is now open.
Pop by for banking services, posting letters and parcels and much more…

Knighton Friendship Group
Second and Fourth Tuesday of the month
2pm to 4pm
Meets every fortnight on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 2pm to 4pm. Activities are available or just come along for a cuppa and a chat. New members are very welcome.
Tuesday 13th May is a visit to Buckfast Abbey (contact Tricia for more details if you are interested in this) and 27th a powerpoint about the Scilly Isles and a quiz.

Community Coffee Morning
10am-noon Friday morning once a month – Friday 16th May
This happens once a month and we invites everyone to pop by for a cuppa and cake. The month of May sees our cake efforts supporting Headway (the Head Injury Association) – come and join in what is always a buzzing atmosphere with plenty of home made goodies. The table is always laden and you can be assured of a warm welcome!

Book and DVD Exchange
The hall is open most weekdays from 9am until 5pm
Come and exchange a book or DVD with our expanding library of films and novels

Happy Feet with Katrina
First and third Wednesdays of the month.
Our friendly village footcare specialist now runs a clinic in the Village Hall Garden room on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. If you are interested in booking in to see Katrina then please contact her on 07754 692018 for more details.

Board Games Club
Every first and third Tuesday from 2-4pm
This growing club meets in the Library room downstairs. There is usually a new game to learn and it’s a warm friendly place to be with friends.

Men’s Breakfast Club
The first Saturday of the month
Hot breakfast menu at great value low prices. Pop by with a bit of cash and start your day off proper job!

Snooker
We are very lucky to have one of the few full size snooker tables in our area. This can be booked for play for only £5 per hour. The room is currently being upgraded and redecorated so please bear with us a little as we make your space smarter 🙂
All bookings must be by prior arrangement as the snooker room remains locked when not in use.
